What are friends for? Project Manager, Gary Floyd was influenced to join our team at Lamp Rynearson by his friend who was hired a few months before him. Gary decided to take the leap into the world of civil engineering at Lamp Rynearson, and 5 years later he has not looked back.
One of Gary’s favorite projects he has worked on was for Canon City Fire Station #3. This project was a unique multi-phased project that started with the piping of an irrigation ditch. The second phase included the design of the Canon City Fire Department’s headquarters and training facility (which included a burn building). The project was also in a floodplain, so the team is going through the CLOMR-F / LOMR-F process with FEMA.
Outside of the projects he works on, Gary’s favorite part about working at Lamp Rynearson has been seeing younger teammates grow to become their own engineers. Gary reflects on how people who started out as interns are now able to take a project from start to finish.
“To be a part of that is very rewarding.”
Looking forward, Gary’s goals are to continue his growth as a project manager and manage more community impacting projects.
When he’s not working on legacy projects, you can find Gary on the green playing a game of golf, and spending time with good friends around town. Congratulations on 5 years, Gary!
