As a year fades into memory and a new one begins – we at Lamp Rynearson take a moment to charter our Outlook for the new year. This is a time to learn from the lessons packaged within the past year – celebrate what we got right, redirect what can be improved upon, and get excited about the future (we don’t think the past will mind our excitement). We measure our current circumstances to determine where we want to go – and more so, where we must go to serve our communities better.
In 2021 we jumped into Leading with Purpose with both feet, setting the groundwork for looking towards the future. What lies ahead for 2022? We will take the momentum gained in the previous year and set Purpose in Motion. Through Purpose in Motion, we will continue to expand how we Leave a Legacy by deepening our thinking around issues that will create value for our communities. We think of our communities as stakeholders in our organization, realizing we can influence design and incorporate equity into the built environment.
The basis of Purpose in Motion is rooted in the concept of Servant Leadership. Initially coined in 1970, servant leadership is an approach people have used for centuries. While it is not new, its guiding principles are needed today more than ever. A servant leader feels responsible for helping people learn and grow, feel purposeful, motivated, energized, and contribute at their highest level.
As we enter the almost second year of the pandemic – we do not know what types of challenges or wicked problems 2022 may present. But, we know through the concepts of Servant Leadership and Purpose in Motion, we will endeavor to drive meaningful change. Bringing our Lamp Rynearson community of problem solvers together to challenge the status quo, hold ourselves accountable, and make progress on achieving our community-enhancing objectives.
Using our profession, Lamp Rynearson aims to influence design, integrate equity into the built environment, and be purposeful for our stakeholders. We believe in unity, sustainable communities, and equity. In an irrevocably changed world, we seek to be authors of a conscientious normal.
With Purpose in Motion,
