The Dillon Family Aquatics Center at the Fremont Family YMCA in Fremont, Nebraska is now the largest square foot YMCA facility in the world!
Fremont, NE is a community that is serious about their swimming. With the new addition of an aquatics center, the community can keep on swimming!
Here are some facts about the facility:
- 6 lanes – 50 meters and 12 lanes 25 yards
- 12 ft diving well and 1 meter diving board
- 12 warm water jets in the shallow end for youth swim lessons and water exercise classes
- Hot tub jacuzzi
- Family changing rooms that include showers
- Splash pad
- Seating for 386 patrons upstairs
- Capacity for 421 swimmers in the pool
- Myrtha Pool – the water height is the same height as the gutters, no splash back to impede swimmers. Water goes into the gutters then the surge tank (takes the waves out) then back into the pool.
- Defender filtration system with UV lighting
- Top of the line HVAC system – no cholorine smell
- 2 full-service locker rooms
- It took over 700,000 gallons of water to fill and took about 2 days
