Fort Smith, Arkansas
The Parrot Island Aquatic Center provides Ben Geren Regional Park a new level of excitement. In 2012, a study revealed an unmet need for this urban community of 250,000 people – a new recreational water park. Larkin Aquatics was hired by the City of Fort Smith and Sebastian County, Arkansas, to design a one-of-a-kind $10.9 million water park. The Larkin team delivered this project on-time for Memorial Day 2015. The project is highlighted by fun features like a 500-foot lazy river, four water slides, and a wave pool. With a capacity for 2,000 people, Parrot Island is the regional destination.
