Chad Thompson serves as Public Practice Lead at Lamp Rynearson, bringing over 30 years of engineering experience—20 of those with the City of Kansas City, Missouri. He has over 25 years of public service, primarily in the Public Works arena. Chad’s expertise spans the full spectrum of municipal infrastructure, including roadway, bridge, stormwater, traffic signal, street lighting, water, and sanitary sewer capital improvement projects. He is known for his hands-on project management, deep understanding of municipal standards, code compliance, and ability to navigate complex regulatory environments. Chad’s experience with grant writing, capital planning, and collaboration with state and federal agencies ensures that municipalities and public works directors benefit from solutions that are practical, efficient, and tailored to community needs. His leadership delivers not just technical excellence, but also clear communication and a commitment to long-term, community-centered outcomes—making him a trusted partner for cities seeking to advance their infrastructure goals with confidence and clarity. Chad also leads an active life outside of work with his family, friends, dogs, soccer and pickleball activities.
