Life is a series of motions. At Lamp Rynearson, we work with purposeful motion guiding our activities. While our firm has a long-standing tradition of leaving a legacy throughout our communities, in 2022, we’re expanding how we can deepen the value we create across the Midwest and Front Range of Colorado.
Adding value and purpose is not a prescribed path. There can be moments of messiness and uncertainty. We acknowledge that deepening our value through purpose in motion will not occur overnight. With a commitment to continual and meaningful progress, we are preparing to roll out our Legacy Design Guide for Equity & Sustainability, guidelines to make this part of the equation of Lamp Rynearson projects.
Our Legacy Design Guide for Equity & Sustainability is based upon Envision™ principles and comprised of 5 sections:
Leadership
At Lamp Rynearson, we start with the Envision™ Rating System setting the stage to incorporate Resiliency, Equity, and Sustainability into our projects. We look to our clients, both public and private, to partner with us on this journey. Our Projects allow us to put action into our strategies, living Purpose in Motion to Leave a Legacy of Enduring Improvements to our Communities.
Community
To truly impact equity in infrastructure, we understand the fundamental concept that we cannot lead in communities that we are not a part of. Stakeholder engagement at the onset of a project can proactively address long-term social, economic, or environmental changes that impact a community’s quality of life in ways we cannot alone.
Design
Every project we work on at Lamp Rynearson has impact. Infrastructure is long-lasting. By looking at projects through an equitable lens, we can ensure that design matters and that social equity and justice can be addressed during the design phase of a project.
Construction
How projects are constructed impacts communities. Through an equitable lens, we can proactively address and minimize negative construction impacts on the surrounding communities.
Measurement
Building Equity in Infrastructure is an iterative process. Measuring project impact provides the critical feedback we need to improve. Finding ways to examine and report both expected and actual changes in quality of life because a project happens by purpose in motion.
Throughout the ideation phase of our Legacy Design Guide for Equity & Sustainability, we thought about overall shareholder value, and researched methods that aligned with our purpose. The intent of this guide is to make a difference in our communities, build our business, and create meaning for everyone. We realize that there is still much to do, yet, we begin where we are and continually stride forward.
