inspect. preserve. compliance.

With science and technical skills at the core of our work, we seek to gain a comprehensive understanding of sites and projects so we can be confident our design meets your environmental and sustainability needs.

Natural ecosystems are crucial to watersheds, native species, and even human health. Bringing these elements into projects associated with wetland delineation, stream assessments, vegetation assessments, and habitat assessments is key to project development. Environmental Regulatory Compliance is a required for a variety of different types of projects. These regulations can be difficult to understand and manage. Lamp Rynearson’s team of engineers, environmental scientists, and stormwater technicians are able to assist clients through this process.

Regulatory Compliance.

Lamp Rynearson’s team of Stormwater Technicians work closely with our clients and contractors to develop creative solutions to potential regulator non-compliance issues. When completing routine required inspections, they identify these potential non-compliance issues and offer solutions to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulatory permits.

National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)

As required by National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit, any project that disturbs more than an acre of land requires that stormwater runoff is regulated. This is achieved through the development of a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and obtaining authorization to discharge construction stormwater. Lamp Rynearson’s team of Stormwater Technicians and Engineers work with our clients to develop this plan and obtain all required regulatory permits.

NPDES Industrial Compliance

In the state of Nebraska there are statutes that regulate the stormwater runoff from industrial sites. If a company is covered by a Standard Industry Classification (SIC) code listed in the NPDES General Permit of Industrial Storm Water Discharges, the company is required to get authorization to discharge stormwater runoff. A Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) will be required for the permit application. Lamp Rynearson’s team of Stormwater Technicians and Engineers work closely with our clients to develop a SWPPP plan to meet the unique needs of their project while bringing the site into compliance with the industrial stormwater regulations. Once the plan is developed our team will apply for and secure all applicable state and local industrial stormwater discharge permits.

Post Construction Stormwater Management

In accordance with the Papillion Creek Watershed Partnerships Post Construction Stormwater Management Plan (PCSMP) requirements, when a project reduces the permeable area on site by more than 5000 square feet, a PCSMP plan is required. Lamp Rynearson’s team of Stormwater Technicians and Engineers design and certify numerous PCSMP’s each year, and our Stormwater Technicians provide annual inspections starting one year after certification. As part of that inspection the Stormwater Technician will prepare a report outlining the current statutes of the BMP’s and any recommended maintenance.

Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC)

The purpose of the Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) rule is to help facilities prevent a discharge of oil into navigable waters or adjoining shorelines. The SPCC rule requires facilities that store 1,320+ gallons of oil products above ground or 42,000+ gallons underground to develop, maintain, and implement an oil spill prevention plan, called an SPCC Plan. These Plans help facilities prevent oil spill, as well as control a spill should one occur. Our team of Stormwater Technicians can develop, adapt, and monitor your plan and facilities to provide assurances that your site remains in compliance with applicable regulations and reducing potential for regulatory fines.

Environmental Sciences.

We have a commitment to our clients and communities to reduce our environmental impacts through responsible practices. Through our teams understanding of Environmental Regulation we can anticipate and resolve obstacles associated to your project.

“When programming of natural spaces, like lakes and rivers, is done right, it emphasizes their natural beauty. These outdoor spaces have been proven to improve physical and mental health.”

“Environmental compliance is not complicated, sites are complicated, construction is complicated. Understanding the unique characteristics of each site as well as the challenges associated with construction is the key to developing an effective plan.”
