One Year In: Getting to Know Amy Augustyn

One Year of Leaving a Legacy

There’s something special about someone who joins a team not because they stumbled across a job posting, but because they’ve watched the people around them thrive and thought, “I want to be part of that.” That’s exactly how Amy Augustyn found her way to Lamp Rynearson.
One year in as Client Development Manager, Amy is already leaving her mark, and we thought it was the perfect time to sit down and hear what this first year has really been like.
“The reputation spoke for itself.”
When we asked Amy what drew her to Lamp Rynearson, her answer was refreshingly straightforward.
“A well-established company with a great reputation,” she said. “The people I’ve known who have worked here over the years always impressed me.”
That kind of word-of-mouth trust is something you can’t manufacture. It’s built over decades of showing up, doing good work, and treating people well. For Amy, the firm’s reputation wasn’t just a selling point on a website. It was something she had witnessed firsthand when working with them on projects she managed in her previous roles. That’s a pretty powerful endorsement.
A role that fits just right.
Amy came to Lamp Rynearson with a background in architecture and project management, so she knows what it looks like to carry a project from start to finish. But her current role? It hits differently.
“My favorite thing about my role at Lamp Rynearson is I get heavily involved in the beginning of projects, before the vision is set,” she shared.
There’s a real art to that. Getting in early, helping shape the direction of something, building the relationships that make a project possible, and then trusting the team to carry it forward. It takes confidence in your colleagues and a genuine love for the front end of the process. Amy has both.
A field trip you won’t forget.
Ask Amy about her best memory from the past year, and she doesn’t hesitate.
“Going on a field trip to see the behind-the-scenes tour of Eppley Airfield and the Terminal Modernization Program,” she said, with a grin you can practically hear through the screen. “And riding in a cop car.”
Yes, you read that right. A cop car. That’s the kind of behind-the-scenes access that reminds you why working in this industry is genuinely exciting. When your work connects you to the infrastructure that moves a city, sometimes you get to see it from a perspective most people never will.
Growing in Omaha, on purpose.
Amy isn’t just thinking about the next project. She’s thinking about the next chapter.
“I was recently accepted into Leadership Omaha,” she told us, “so I’ll be doing a deep dive, learning more about myself and how to make an impact in Omaha.”
Leadership Omaha is a program that develops community leaders who are committed to making a difference in the city. It’s a big deal, and it fits Amy perfectly. Her role at Lamp Rynearson is already rooted in building relationships and connecting people to possibilities. Taking that energy into the broader Omaha community? That’s the kind of growth that benefits everyone.
When she’s not at work.
If you want to find Amy outside the office, follow the music.
“I enjoy listening to music. Live music is preferred,” she said. She also stays active and loves taking on creative projects with her kids.
There’s something telling about a person who gravitates toward live music. It’s communal, it’s in the moment, and it’s about showing up and being present. That’s a pretty good description of how Amy approaches her work, too.
Here’s to year one.
Amy Augustyn came to Lamp Rynearson because she believed in what she saw. One year later, she’s adding to the story that drew her here in the first place. We’re glad she’s part of the team, and we can’t wait to see what year two brings.
