When Senior Project Engineer Grant Zebold decided to relocate to Kansas City and transition from the public sector to consulting, Lamp Rynearson immediately stood out. He was drawn to the firm’s strong commitment to its employees and the exciting growth opportunities it offered.
When Grant joined Lamp Rynearson’s Water Services Group 5 years ago, the first project he worked on was the Buckeye I/I reduction project for KCMO.
“Seeing the project through to substantial completion recently has been a rewarding experience and a reminder of my personal and professional growth during its journey,” he said.
One day of the last 5 years that Grant will never forget is when he and his coworker were conducting a sludge test at a wastewater lagoon. They had to traverse the lagoon in an inflatable raft to collect samples, and at one point nearly fell out!
“Thankfully, we managed to stay dry—though had we fallen in, it would definitely not have been my favorite memory,” he recounted.
As he continues his exciting career at Lamp Rynearson, he looks forward to expanding his skill set as he takes on more leadership roles.
Outside of work, Grant remains active as a former college athlete, coaching Track and Field. “It’s a way to pass on the skills that shaped me while keeping me motivated to stay active,” he explained.
Be on the lookout this summer at Kansas City Corporate Challenge! As our coordinator for the event, he’s ready for some friendly competition and eager to bring home a few trophies—whether in track, swimming, or even horseshoes.
Congratulations on 5 years with Lamp Rynearson, Grant!
