This year marks a remarkable milestone for Tom Wells—25 years of dedication, growth, and impact at Lamp Rynearson. As we celebrate Tom’s work anniversary, we sat down with him to reflect on his journey, share his favorite memories, and discuss what continues to inspire him every day.
Finding a Dream Company
When Tom first considered joining Lamp Rynearson, he wasn’t just looking for a job—he was searching for a company where he could truly grow. “I am an old-school person,” Tom shares. “I have always had the mindset of not necessarily finding your dream job, but rather, finding your dream company. A company where I can grow, a company that invests in its employees. An atmosphere where your growth is only limited by where you want to go, not by where you are.” During his interview, the focus on Lamp Rynearson’s values and commitment to personal and professional growth made a lasting impression. It was clear this was a place where he could build a meaningful career.
A Project to Remember
Over the past year, Tom’s favorite project has been The Rye at Harrison. “I had the opportunity to be involved early in the process and through the permitting process,” he explains. “This provided a huge sense of ownership in the process. This made me feel so much more involved and valued.” Being part of a project from start to finish is a rewarding experience, and Tom’s dedication shines through in every phase.
Looking Ahead
After 25 years, Tom’s passion for his work and his team is as strong as ever. “I look forward to continuing to grow my team and our services. There is a tremendous amount of potential.” His vision for the future is rooted in collaboration, innovation, and helping others reach their full potential.
Memories That Last a Lifetime
Tom’s favorite work memories are a testament to the impact he’s had on the Omaha community. “Over the last 25 years, I have had the opportunity to work on so many projects…one of my favorite work-related memories would be annoying my wife and kids every time we drive almost anywhere in the Omaha metropolitan area, and I repeatedly say…‘I was a part of that project.’” Another cherished memory is a legendary team-building softball game from his early days in the Land Development group. “It was a glorious disaster. I can honestly say I have never laughed so hard while on the clock!”
Passion Beyond the Office
Outside of work, Tom’s biggest hobby is also one of his greatest passions—his involvement with the non-profit Bikers Against Child Abuse. “It combines my love of riding my motorcycle with being able to help empower abused children.” Tom’s commitment to making a difference extends far beyond the workplace.
Congratulations, Tom, on 25 years of service, leadership, and inspiration at Lamp Rynearson. Here’s to many more years of growth, laughter, and meaningful impact!
