Fort Calhoun, Nebraska
Lamp Rynearson is honored to have been selected as the civil engineering firm responsible for the development of the upgraded track and field at Fort Calhoun High School. This project holds significant importance for us as it embodies our commitment to supporting educational institutions and their communities. The upgraded track and field will serve as a hub for athletic excellence, fostering a sense of pride and unity among students, athletes, and local residents.
This $2.1 million project kicked off in May 2023 and creates a big impact for the small community of Fort Calhoun. The renovation encompasses improvements across multiple athletic disciplines, including track and field, football, and soccer.
The renovation of Fort Calhounās field from natural grass to artificial turf marked a significant transformation in the way the facility was utilized and maintained. The decision to switch to artificial grass was driven by a multitude of factors, chief among them being the desire for increased durability and versatility.
Substantial upgrades to the track and field were made as well as the once crumbling track has been updated to a new eight-lane track, relocated long and triple jump areas, and a newly added pole vault area.
