Project Engineer Ben Sinnett first became interested in Lamp Rynearson at his college’s career fair, where he met representatives from our company. At the end of the fair, Ben realized that out of all the companies he talked with, Lamp Rynearson stood out the most to him. After doing further online research, he was attracted by the benefits and positive work culture offered by the company.
“I could see that the firm had a vision for innovation and collaboration on another tier compared to representatives from other firms, and this was a driving factor in why I applied,” Ben said.
After his first interview, Ben was impressed with the great community of people he met. This made him confident in choosing Lamp Rynearson when the opportunity arose.
During his first year here, Ben’s favorite project has been the Elledge Drive Improvements in Roeland Park, Kansas. This was one of the first jobs Ben worked on, and the first project he got to see through construction.
“I am passionate about stormwater and this is also the first project I got to work with hydraulically, so this job holds sentiment to me,” Ben said.
He finds it rewarding to see a project he has been working on for months almost completed.
Moving forward, Ben is excited to learn from his team members, and be able to work on projects with less dependence. He is also hopeful to obtain his P.E. as soon as he can.
One of his favorite memories of his first year here was attending last year’s Shrimp Bingo event. He was happy to see everyone from the office having a good time and for the opportunity to meet engineers from around the city.
Outside of work, you will probably find Ben playing video games. He loves gaming because of the ability to connect with friends who not only live far away, but also people from around the globe that he would have never had the chance to meet otherwise. Ben has also dabbled with music for as long as he can remember. On top of over 10 years of piano lessons, he was also in high school/college symphony bands and marching bands. He still enjoys experimenting with music creation in his free time.
Ben has had an exciting first year and we are excited to see what he accomplishes in the future. Congratulations on one year at Lamp Rynearson, Ben!
